As we bid adieu to 2023, the NŌK CHOC family is taking a moment to reflect on the rich tapestry of lessons woven into the fabric of our year. This chapter has been defined by growth, a heightened sensory experience, and the profound truth that simplicity is indeed a timeless virtue.
Chocolate and Cocoa
If you are just as enthused about chocolate and hot cocoa as we are, you’ll already understand why we love the taste of NŌK CHOC so much. If you’re not, think of a time when all you really wanted was a little piece of chocolate after a hard day as a little treat, or that hot cocoa date you went on. These are key components in our lives whether we consume them on a daily basis or only on special occasions. Most of us cannot deny ourselves a little indulgence within our diets, and who would blame us? We enjoy chocolate and cocoa just as much as the next person, so why not start a company built on a product we already know you'll love.
Building Community
The power of chocolate and cocoa also allows us to bring friends, families, and communities together in celebration of living the good life. Breaking a piece of chocolate off of a bar to share with your peers, making your kids cocoa to watch the family night movie, and bringing these staples as snacks to parties all symbolize the meaning behind our simple products. We want to encourage love, celebration, community, and joy. Sharing chocolate and cocoa with the world is our version of contributing to your community, tribe, club, posse, or whatever you end up calling it. We just want to share the gift of togetherness, all the way from Nigeria to America.
Health and Environmental Benefits
Our product was made with your health in mind. All of our products are low in processed sugar, gluten free, soy-free, and vegan in order to provide you with the best quality of cocoa. We believe that it is possible to create sweet treats that are still beneficial to your body!
Mission to Fund Girls’ Schools in Africa
Our initial purpose of this company was to find a way to produce funds for the construction of primary schools in Southeastern Nigeria, where there are alarmingly high rates of girls out of school. In an effort to bridge the gap between philanthropy and business, Idara Otu, our Founder and ‘Queen Cocoa’, found a way to sip delicious cocoa with the knowledge that you are changing lives across the globe. A percentage of all our profits go to the Let Girls Read, Run, Grow organization that Idara founded, in the hopes of providing young Nigerian women with the skills they need to become leaders and changemakers in the world. This, helping others, is exactly why we are in love with NŌK CHOC.
